Confidentiality and reporting
Who agrees what, what a sponsor can see, and what stays private. Agreed in writing before any coaching starts.
A three-way agreement
The sponsor describes what the organisation hopes for. Each participant and their proposed coach talk separately about fit and personal aims. Then all three agree the roles, what may be reported, to whom and when, the limits of confidentiality, and how to pause, change or end.
The participant helps define progress and reviews any wording about their own progress before it is shared. A private coaching conversation is not a staff evaluation.
Midpoint report, sample
Synthetic example for this demo. No real participants or results.
Programme: six fictional leaders, four workshops planned over six months. Delivery: two of four workshops held. Attendance: handled as set out in the agreement. Agreed shared aim: practise clearer delegation decisions. Theme: none published where it could identify a participant. Next action: sponsor to clarify which decisions participants can make without escalation. Excluded: private-session notes and individual judgements.
Read this as a reporting format, not evidence that coaching worked.
End report, sample
Synthetic example for this demo. No real participants or results.
Delivery: four of four workshops shown as completed, for illustration. Agreed aims: participant-reviewed descriptions of progress shared only as agreed; no result claimed. Shared themes: withheld unless safe to share. Next action: sponsor and participants decide what practice to continue.
No return on investment, ranking, score, private note or judgement about an individual.
Notes and records
We agree who holds coaching records, who can access them, why they are kept and when they are deleted before work starts. Private notes are not a sponsor deliverable. This fictional demo stores no coaching records.
When confidentiality has limits
Legal disclosure duties and serious risk of harm are explained before coaching starts, so nobody is promised secrecy without exceptions.
Ask what your sponsor would see before anything is agreed.
